Moderate Flood Warning for the Diamantina River

MODERATE FLOODING EASING SLOWLY AT BIRDSVILLE

Flooding is continuing along the Diamantina River downstream of Diamantina Lakes following moderate to heavy rainfall in late March and early April across the Diamantina River catchment. Moderate flooding around Birdsville is likely to extend into the next week.

The river level along the Diamantina River has now fallen below the level of the Diamantina Lakes causeway.

No significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days.

Diamantina River to Diamantina Lakes

Flooding has eased along the Diamantina River at Diamantina Lakes. The river level is currently at 1.95 metres and falling, below the causeway level on the Springvale Diamantina Lakes Road (2.10 m).

Minor to major flooding is easing along the Diamantina River downstream of Diamantina Lakes between Monkira and Birdsville.
